Isn't it great that so many people from so many places share the same interest!
I'm really glad you liked some of our work.
There must be more in two weeks, as we're having the annual LightCon convent at the end of August, people attending from all over Siberia, with all those costumes and a lot of saber combats (oh, well, arts, of course  )
Meanwhile, we'll be happy to talk to you.
Unfortunately most people here are not so keen in English, but we'll keep trying

Well, it's not a full-blast event dedicated to many aspects of Star Wars fanship, but rather a workshop in saberfighting. There are costumes and games and various kinds of activities but fencing is the key matter. In case you haven't found already, there are some pics and videos from the recent Convent. No English version yet, but feel free to ask as many questions as you like and I'll keep answering. There are pics from previous Convents also, but this one was the most sublime.

However, it's been a long time since, nevertheless
Yes, the WSJA was officially formed in 2003 and is constantly growing, up to 6 branches by now. We're using the models made by ourselves, yes.
These are solid enough so we can do the realistic fight without breaking them.
We're taking the idea behind the lightsabers (so-called "physics of light saber") and the fighting is based on that "physics", which is to say, biomechanics and hyroscope effect.
You always know which way you and your saber should move, the same way as if it's been in Star Wars Universe.
If it would look the same it would be great, but not necessary.
